The Kristiansand region has a long and proud industrial tradition. Strong areas of expertise, business clusters and businesses have developed high-tech solutions on the world class level. The Kristiansand region is among leaders within the area of renewable energy. Historically, hydropower has been important to the region, but together are looking to the future with new opportunities within hydrogen and offshore wind.

Short distances to the labor market, suppliers and customers are important. Of all the cities in Norway, Kristiansand is the city closest to the European continent – the hub of Southern Norway with an international airport and the region's largest port.

BATTERY COAST
This ability to attract ideas and excellence show results. These include research and development within battery technology – thus the name “Battery Coast”. In addition, Kristiansand is home to two global leading clusters; NCE Eyde and GCE Node. Strong centres of expertise, trade and industry clusters and businesses have developed world-class, high-tech solutions and built up an expertise that few can match.
The Kristiansand region is amongst the national leaders within renewable energy. It is not without reason that sustainability is an important part of Kristiansand's goals, and the city has the goal of becoming the country's first all-electric region by 2030.
BUSINESS REGION KRISTIANSAND

EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
The wide range of business opportunities are supported by a strong educational sector, led by vocational schools as well as the University of Agder, with campuses in Kristiansand and Grimstad the University of Agder (UiA), has approximately 13,000 students and 1,300 employees, offering five curriculums of study in addition to the School of Business and Law, one of only two business schools in Norway.
RELOCATION AGDER
For those who want to relocate to Kristiansand, the region makes this easy. Close cooperation between the Municipality of Kristiansand to with other private and public organizations including Relocation Agder, a part of Business Region Kristiansand.
